The TUPA, short for Texto Único de Procedimientos Administrativos, is an official document issued by Peru’s Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones.       Hi
      American married to a Peru national living in the US.  Looking to retire in Peru next year. Have dealt with the Lima bureaucracy with marriage paperwork and her expired DNI. Not something I look forward to. Would you know other areas of the country, Trujillo, that we can deal with? Thanks.

        not sure how you ended on the TUPA article. 

        Anyway, over the years things got better in Peru regarding bureaucracy and if you do everything by the book and have all your documents in order, applying for a residence visa , in your case either based on being married to a Peruvian or based on being retired, is an easy and straightforward process. 

        You find more information either in our Family visa article or in our Retirement visa article.

        And yes, there are Migraciones offices in Lima but as well in the provinces. One is in Trujillo. During the online application you can choose, which Migraciones office should handle your application and the biometrical data appointment and picking up your carné is done at that office. And as there is an Interpol branch in Trujillo as well, you can also apply for your Ficha de Canje  in Trujillo. So, no need to pay Lima a visit.

        As explained before the TUPA are the administrative procedures stating how the Peruvian foreigner law has to be applied by Migraciones. It determines, for example, which requirements foreigners have to fulfill to be granted a visa.

        Your FBI record check is a document issued by the FBI showing your criminal history.

        So, the TUPA is a Peruvian regulation and the FBI record check is a document proving you have a clean record.

      Yes Inded I have read the documents and info many times....The problem being that we have uploaded ALL OF THE REQUIRED DOCOS on this list more than once and at the end we are told something else is required ..maybe.a change that occured, Do you know porfa✨🙏✨Thank you for your assistance🩷

        so you trying to apply for a retirement visa and uploaded all required documents? Then before each requirement there should be a green check. If not and you get an error message, something is missing.

        As I don't know what you uploaded and what's missing, probably if you try again, make screenshots and attach the picture here or contact me under limaeasycontact @ gmail.com , so I can see where the problem is.

        Anyway, on the second page of the retirement visa application you must fill in some data and/or upload all for the retirement visa application necessary documents as PDF (max size per document 3MB).

        So, click on the little arrows next to each requirement, and certain fields appear depending on the requirement. Just fill in the fields as requested and upload the corresponding document.

        Under “Pago por derecho de tramite” you are asked to enter certain information of the bank receipt:
        - numero de recibo (number of the receipt) which is the "secuencia de pago" on the pagalo receipt
        - codigo de verficación (verification code) which is the "codigo control" on the pagalo receipt
        - fecha de recibo (date) which is the "fecha de operación" on the pagalo receipt.
        After entering the requested info click on Validar. If the bank receipt is accepted, a green check will appear in front of the tab.

        Under the Documento de Identificación tab, select the document with which you entered Peru (in most cases passport), fill in required data and upload a copy. Again, if the document is accepted, you get the green check.

        Under the Interpol tab, you must upload two documents
        - the Ficha de Canje from Interpol Peru
        and 
        - the criminal record check you brought from home. 
        Be aware that both fields are mandatory, and you can’t continue without having uploaded both documents.

        Under the next tab, you must upload the letter from your pension fund and below the sworn statement.

        There is one last tab “Exceso de permanencia” (excess stay). As long as you are in Peru on a valid stay this tab already has the green check in front of it.

        If you uploaded all the documents and have a green check in front of each tab, click on Siguiente.

        So, please let me know, if this worked or where the problem is.

      The man at migracions said that i already had the document from my student visa and just needed to upload it! Confused .....Does this document cover the TUPA requirement? Porfa,✨

        I'm confused as well. What document are you talking about?

        There you find all required documents.

        Here a simple list of the requirements (explanations in the article linked above):

        - Passport
        - Criminal record check from your home country or from the country where you legally lived (so with a resident visa) during the 5 years prior to coming to Peru showing that you don't have a record
        - Letter / confirmation from your pension fund or social security stating that you receive a monthly income of at least US$ 1000 or the equivalent in any other currency.
        - Interpol clearance - Ficha de canje internacional issued by Interpol in Peru
        - Sworn statement stating that your pension enters Peru through the banking system
        - Receipt for paid application fee (code Migraciones 07568; concept Cambio de calidad migratoria rentista residente, S/.161.40 since October 22, 2023)
        - "Recibo" (so a water or electricity bill proving your address; doesn't have to be in your name)
        - Form PA - Cambio de Calidad Migratoria (automatically filled in during application)

        Be aware that all documents issued abroad need an Apostille and must be translated into Spanish in Peru.

        Be further aware that documents have an "expiration date" in Peru. So, generally, documents issued in Peru are only accepted if they were issued less than three months before the application. Documents issued outside Peru can't be older than six months.

        So, if you used a document for your student visa application (when did you apply for the student visa?) then it might already be too old to be accepted again.
