The renowned Swiss company Victorinox, famous worldwide for its high-quality and extremely functional pocketknives that are not only trusted multi-tools in all life’s adventures but, thanks to some unique designs, sought-after collector's items, has just released its third Peru-inspired pocketknife collection.
In collaboration with Marca Peru, Victorinox presents its new limited edition titled “Artesanías del Perú” (Peruvian Handicrafts), celebrating the country's cultural pride and deep-rooted artisan traditions. This collection includes three designs that beautifully capture the soul of Peru, paying tribute to the creative talent of Peruvian artisans and the symbolic power of traditional craftsmanship.

Victorinox “Artesanías del Perú” pocketknife "Tumi"
The Tumi is a ceremonial knife used by ancient pre-Columbian cultures, especially the Moche and later the Lambayeque civilizations. Traditionally made of gold or bronze, it features a semicircular blade and an ornate handle, often depicting a deity or noble figure. The Tumi de Oro was not used for combat, but in rituals, particularly those related to healing, sacrifice, and divination. Today, it stands as a powerful symbol of wisdom, prestige, and cultural continuity in Peru.

Victorinox “Artesanías del Perú” pocketknife "Danzante de Tijeras"
The Scissors Dancer is part of a vibrant and demanding traditional Andean dance, performed primarily in the southern highlands of Peru. It is a UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage and represents resistance, duality, and mystical connection with nature and the spiritual world. Dancers, often trained from a young age, compete in elaborate, acrobatic performances while wielding a pair of metal scissors that produce rhythmic sounds. The design on the knife evokes this energetic tradition, framed like a scene in a colorful retablo ayacuchano (a traditional folk-art altar from Ayacucho), celebrating both the dance and the artistry of the highlands.

Victorinox “Artesanías del Perú” pocketknife "Torito de Pucará"
Originating from the village of Pucará in the Puno region, the Torito de Pucará is a hand-crafted ceramic bull widely known across Peru. Traditionally placed on rooftops of Andean homes for protection, these colorful bulls are believed to bring prosperity, happiness, and fertility to households. They blend indigenous and colonial symbolism, often bearing elaborate decorations and vibrant colors. The Torito embodies rural life, agricultural abundance, and the syncretic beliefs of Andean communities.

The pocketknives are available in two Victorinox models: the Classic (58mm) and the Climber (91mm). The first 1,000 Climber units are collector’s pieces, featuring a sterling silver plate (950) engraved with the official "Artesanías del Perú" seal, highlighting their exclusive and cultural value.
This third Peru-themed release builds on the success of Victorinox’s earlier collaborations with MarcaPerú.
Back in 2017, Victorinox launched its first limited Peru edition, based on the popular red Spartan model with 12 functions. That collection featured three of Peru’s most iconic archaeological wonders: Machu Picchu, the Nazca Lines, and Caral. Each knife included the site’s name, GPS coordinates, and the Marca Perú logo, celebrating the country’s ancient civilizations.

Then, in 2019, the company introduced the “Art to Conserve” edition, a creative collaboration with three Peruvian artists: César Caycho, Qarla Quispe, and Fito Espinosa. Each artist designed a knife inspired by Peru’s flora, fauna, and Andean spirit. That edition also supported environmental conservation, with a portion of proceeds donated to the “Reforestation for Nature” initiative by the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law (SPDA).

The new 2025 Peru-themed Victorinox collection isn’t just beautiful - it’s meaningful proving that a pocketknife can be more than a tool, it can be a piece of heritage. Each knife is adorned with detailed illustrations of the chosen cultural symbols, combining Swiss precision with Peruvian identity. The packaging design includes informative inserts and cultural references, while proudly displaying the Marca Peru seal, guaranteeing authenticity and promoting Peru’s artisan heritage on a global scale.
