The new Peruvian Nationality Law, Ley No. 32421, was published in Peru's official newspaper El Peruano on August 15, 2025. It repeals the old Peruvian Nationality law, Ley No. 26574, in effect since 1997, and updates the procedures for obtaining, retaining, renouncing, and recovering Peruvian nationality,
However, it will only enter into force after the publication of its regulations, for which the Executive Branch has a deadline until May 2026.
