Opened in July 2012, the Grand National Theater, the Gran Teatro Nacional del Peru, is the newest and most modern addition to Lima's cultural scene. The multi-purpose theatre and concert hall is equipped with the latest technology in acoustics as well as sound and theatrical engineering, making a visit to one of the performance ranging from operas, concerts, ballets, Broadway shows and more a first class experience.

With its glass and steel façade, the outside of the Gran Teatro Nacional shows a contemporary design, while the inside takes up the architectural style and traditions of historic theaters incorporating them into the modernity.

With almost 1,500 seats, the Grand National Theater is Peru's biggest performing arts center providing space not only for opera, dance and theatrical productions and philharmonic orchestra concerts, but as well for other artistic and cultural activities, meetings and exhibitions.

The Gran Teatro Nacional del Peru is also the home of the country's National Symphony Orchestra, the National Youth Symphony Orchestra, the National Ballet, the National Chorus, the National Children's Chorus and the National Folkloric Ensemble.
