Reniec

Reniec (Registro Nacional de Identificación y Estado Civil) is Peru’s National Registry of Identification and Civil Status in charge of maintaining the civil registry as well as the electoral register.

SUNAT - Peru's tax authority

Sunat, Peru’s National Customs and Tax Administration Superintendence (La Superintendencia Nacional de Aduanas y de Administración Tributaria), is a government administrative agency attached to the Peruvian Ministry of Economy and Finance who enforces taxation and customs in the country.

TAM

The TAM, Tarjeta Andina de Migracion (Andean Migration Card), is an obligatory migration and statistical control document needed by nationals and foreigners to enter and leave countries of the Andean Community (Comunidad Andina) including Peru.

Tasa Anual

The Tasa Anual de Extranjería (TAE), also known as Foreigner Tax, is a fee that all foreigners residing in Peru had to pay each year until 2016. With the introduction of a new immigration law in 2017 this tax is suspended, at least for now.

UIT - Peruvian tax unit

The UIT, Unidad Impositiva Tributaria, is a reference unit set annually by the Peruvian Ministry of Economy (MEF) to determine taxes, penalties, fines, processing fees, deductions, and others. In 2024, 1 UIT is equivalent to S/ 5,150.
