After the spectacular and successful Pan-American Games 2019 in Lima, the Peruvian capital hosts as well the ParaPan American Games, a major sporting event for athletes with disabilities comparable the Paralympic Games but restricted to participants from the Americas, from August 23 to September 1, 2019.
Since 1999 the ParaPan American Games take place every four years in the year before the Summer Olympic Games / Paralympic Games a week or so after the Pan American Games.
During this year’s VI (6th) ParaPan American Games, also known as the 2019 ParaPan Am Games or Lima 2019 ParaPan, about 1900 athletes from 31 nations of the Americas compete in 17 sports and 18 disciplines.
