The Insólito, Peru’s only film festival entirely dedicated to the horror and fantasy genre, is back in its 3rd edition at the end of February.
Sponsored by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, the National Library, the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and CinePlanet and organized by El ultimo Cine Club, Jungle and Diva Productions, the Horror and Fantasy Film Festival in Lima presents more than 50 short films and movies which compete in five categories: international, Latin America, national, international short film and fantasy without rules (section dedicated to experimental and avant-garde films that uses the elements of the genre as a starting point to explore new aesthetic and technical possibilities that the seventh art can offer).
Additionally, the International Horror and Fantasy Film Festival in Lima 2020 presents a number of national and international figures of the horror and fantasy scene.
The inauguration gala is held at the Teatro Auditorio Mario Vargas Llosa de la Biblioteca Nacional del Perú in San Borja. Film screenings are public and free of charge. Entrance on a first come, first served basis.
