As part of the Family Opera Season 2020 the Gran Teatro Nacional presents “The Little Prince”, one of the best-selling and most translated books ever published, as Magical Opera.
“The Little Prince - A Magical Opera”, is an opera in two acts by Rachel Portman from 2003 to an English libretto by Nicholas Wright, based on the 1943 book of the same name by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry which follows a young prince from a distant asteroid who through his travels to various planets in space, including Earth, learns about loneliness, friendship, love, loss and the importance of life.
On the stage of the Gran Teatro Nacional the Peruvian National Children’s Choir and the Symphony Orchestra of Peru directed by Jean Pierre Gamarra bring the story to life.
“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.” Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
