The Peruvian Bakers and Pastry Association (Aspan) and the municipality of San Borja invite to the Festival del Pan y el Dulce – the Bread and Sweets Festival – at the end of August in San Borja.
According to Aspan President Pio Pantoja highlight of the festival will be the presentation of the Pan del Bicentenario, the bread created to celebrate Peru’s Bicentennial of Independence
Additionally visitors can taste and purchase numerous artisanal breads made from Peruvian cereals such as el pan tanta, wawa, el pan de cebada, el pan de tres puntas, el pan chapla, el pan chuta, el pan rico and many more. These can be enjoyed with a good cup of organic coffee or a glass of emoliente.
And for all the sweet teeths out there pastry chefs will offer the most delicious Peruvian sweets such as picarones, mazamorra, tres leches, crema volteada and more.
