Just at the beginning of November 2017 a different and interesting documentary, “Peru – the Hidden Treasure” (Peru – Tesoro Escondido) premiered in Peruvian cinemas. It has been available for the international audience on Netflix. Worth to watch.
Uruguayan filmmaker Luis Ara and his production team captured during their 8 months travel through several regions of Peru some astonishing images of some of the most incredible places of the country.
Taking us on a journey along the Peruvian coast, through the Andean highlands and the rainforest, “Peru – the Hidden Treasure” gives a breathtaking beautiful insight into the countries stunning landscapes, its diverse geography and amazing nature while introducing the rich cultural heritage left by many highly advanced civilizations and the Peruvian culinary scene.
The documentary takes us first to northern Peru with its lovely beaches and surfers, then south to the Ica and Nazca desert with its stunning sand dunes, the Huacachina oasis and Nazca Lines, to Lima and Arequipa, Peru’s largest cities and gastronomic hotspots, to the Colca Valley, then back north to the Sarcophagi of Karajia, Gocta waterfall and the ruins of Kuelap.
From the Titicaca Lake with its floating islands, the journey continues to the capital of the Inca Empire Cusco and of course to Machu Picchu. “Peru – the Hidden Treasure” as well travels with us to the breathtaking Amazon rainforest in Loreto, including the Pacaya Samaria National Reserve, and makes a quick stop in Pachacamac.
