The Parque Municipal in the center of Barranco is a nice place to sit down, relax or just to see and to be seen. The park was inaugurated on the 13th of February 1899 and till today is popular at day and night.

In the center of the park stands a Venus statue, known as 'La Donaide', surrounded by a fountain. Surrounding the park you find the public library housed in a building from the 19th century - the unique tower was added in 1911 - which originally was home to the municipality. The library provides among many others books written in Braille for visually disabled people. Just opposite is the "Iglesia de la Santisima Cruz". and the Santisima Cruz Church.

Every evening around 06.00pm local artist show and sell their works. The park is very popular at night as it is surrounded by many clubs and bars.
