The Ministry of Labor and Promotion of Employment is the institution of the Peruvian Government in charge of all matters related to generating as well as improving formal employment as well as enforcing labor regulations.

Other functions include:

promote decent and productive formal employment
strengthen the social dialogue and the employability and protection of the youth and vulnerable groups
promote social welfare and vocational training
ensure compliance with legal standards and working conditions
