Legislative Decree No. 728, also known as the Labor Productivity and Competitiveness Law, is very important legislation. Published on March 27, 1997, the regulation has a series of objectives. This law regulates pre-professional practices, those that are carried out during the academic training period of the students; and professional practices, those carried out by graduates for up to twelve months.

Compensation for time of service has the quality of social benefit of anticipation of the contingencies that originate the cessation of work and of promotion of the worker and his family.

This Legislative Decree regulates the right of workers subject to the private activity labor regime, to take part in the profits of companies that carry out third-category income-generating activities.

This law establishes the right of the worker of public and private activity to leave work in cases of having a child, father or mother, spouse or partner, or person under his or her guardianship or guardianship, being a patient diagnosed with a serious or terminal condition, or after suffering a serious accident.

This Law establishes the right of workers in public and private activities, including the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru, in harmony with their special laws, to paid paternity leave, in the event of the birth of their spouse or partner, to promote and strengthen the development of the family.

This Legislative Decree establishes the regulations in the public and private sector for paid vacations.

The norm contemplates aspects related to the employment contract, the payment of salaries, bonuses, compensation for time of service, the working day, paid breaks, the prevention of sexual harassment, among others.

The National Pension Fund is the central body of the National Social Security Pension System. This law creates the National Social Security Pension System, replacing the pension systems of the Pension Funds of the National Social Security Fund and the Employee Social Security Fund and the Special Retirement Fund for Private Employees.

The Procedural Labor Law or procedural labor law is a set of legal norms, with very peculiar characteristics, that regulate the solution of labor disputes, individual or collective, both if the labor relationship subsists or when it has expired, to achieve harmony and therefore social peace.
