The Via Libre organization was established in Lima in 1990 at the initiative of six health professionals dedicated to prevent the spread of HIV / AIDS and other STIs in Peru reducing or trying to eliminate the individual, community and social impact of these diseases in the country.
Over the past decades Via Libre not only promoted the rights of people with HIV and AIDS, trained health care personnel and provided information on this topic, but became the institution in the field of sexual and reproductive health in Peru carrying out collaborative work with the public, private, academic and civil society sectors, including the community sector.
