The voluntary fire brigades (Bomberos Voluntarios del Peru) of Lima's districts and of some other cities in Peru respond to any kind of medical emergency quickly and provide an excellent service free of charge (a donation is more than appreciated and needed).

Their units are well-equipped and the first responders well-trained.

So, if you had an accident of any kind or any other medical emergency, but aren’t privately insured including a private ambulance service, call the bomberos for quick and reliable help and first aid.

I've been to one of the fire stations and noticed they are struggling quite a bit. When they tried to demonstrate their chainsaws to us, their first chainsaw wouldn't turn on. Then they tried their second chainsaw, and that didn't work either. Around halfway through our English Translator, the only fireman who could speak English, you must remember that all these firemen are volunteers! Around the end of our journey, we got to ride the famous firefighter's pole. But 'pole' wasn't a pole at all but rather a pipe! I feel that these fire stations need much more money and are definitely struggling.

  yes, all the firemen in Peru are volunteers. And the fire brigades are mainly financed only by the municipalities. So, "richer" municipalities usually have better equipped fire brigades than "poorer" ones. Nevertheless, from experience I know that they do their best with the limited equipment they have.
  
  Overall, the fire brigades heavily rely on financial and material donations. Luckily, there are a few Peruvian individuals and companies regularly donating. Additionally, there are relations to a few fire brigades abroad that donate equipment and once in a while fly some firemen to Peru for training.
