Cybersecurity Bootcamp
The University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC) in Lima put together a series of IT & new technology workshops under the theme “Technology Roadmap” for those interested in extending their knowledge in this ever more important area. One of those workshops is the Cybersecurity Bootcamp.
Cybersecurity is the practice of defending computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks, and data from digital attacks. These attacks are usually aimed at accessing, changing, or destroying sensitive information, extorting money from users or interrupting normal business processes. A before unthinkable increase of mobile and Internet of Things devices brought the traditional data, network and security schemes to its limit. So to protect digital and telecommunications networks a new approach was necessary.
The Cybersecurity Bootcamp introduces participants to the multiple layers of protection necessary to keep computers, networks, programs, other devices and data safe. At the end of the workshop participants will
- have an understanding about the basics and trends of information security and cybersecurity
- understand the concepts of data security, security elements, modern data and technologies
- be able follow the conceptional and technical structure of modern networks and know how to protect them
