Festival de la Vendimia 2025 in Ica

Ica once again celebrates the grape harvest with the Festival Internacional de la Vendimia (International Grape Harvest Festival) in March 2025 in its 60^th edition. This year's motto is "Returning to the origin."

Already before the main festivities a Harvest Queen, La Reina de la Vendimia, is elected, who reigns over the festival, and other smaller activities take place.

The main festival kicks off on March 7 starting at midday with music and dancing as well as the traditional grape stomping (la pisa de uvas). At around 03.00 pm a huge, colorful parade, the “Pasacalle Inaugural de la Vendimia Ica Renace" starts their way from Colegio San Luis Gonzaga through town to the Campo Ferial de Ica.

During the 10-day festival there are numerous activities, such as wine and Pisco making contests and fairs, wine and Pisco tastings, the gastronomic fair “Sabores del Peru” with lots of amazing local and Peruvian dishes, lots of dancing in traditional costumes and local music, dance competitions such as the "Concurso de danzas y estampas alusivas a la Vendimia Iqueña" on March 8, the 9th edition of the "Festival de la Canción", concerts with national and international artists, a Peruvian Paso horse show, art and craft fairs and this year for the first time a Muralist Competition, where artists can paint their works on certain walls making the city nicer.

Additionally, special guided tours to wineries in the region are offered which open their doors to local visitors and tourists, inviting them to learn more about the pisco and wine making process and of course to taste the final product.

The festival traditionally ends with the Gran Corso y Concurso de Carros Alegóricos, another huge parade full of colorful floats, Peruvian costumes, music, dancing and a specail atmospehere on March 16, you shouldn't miss if you are in the area.
