Over the past 12 years the “Ruraq Maki, hecho a mano” art & crafts fair developed into one of the most popular and largest (sales) exhibitions of original handmade Peruvian handicrafts and craftsmanship in Lima and this year takes place in the week before Christmas.
The fair showcases handmade, indigenous and native handicrafts and artworks from 140 craftsmen from all over Peru.
Products sold include typical, but traditional handicrafts and artwork including basketry, carved wooden pieces, textiles, ceramics, silverware and indigenous decorations.
The Ruraq Maki, hecho a mano fair allows local artists and craftsmen to preserve and promote their cultural heritage and traditional art and bring their original handmade works to a larger audience while at the same time generate some much-needed income.
