OMD fans in Peru have been waiting for this forever: finally for the first time, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, the legendary British electronic, synth-pop and new wave band, pays Lima a visit on their world tour at the end of January 2019.
Co-founders Andy McCluskey (vocals, bass guitar) and Paul Humphreys (keyboards, vocals) are considered the fathers of electronic music and musical innovators who demonstrated ahead of their time that electronic insturments can transmit emotions and synthesizer are as valid as a guitar when creating pop art. This combined with intelligently crafted hooks and colorful rhythms made the sound of OMD so legendary.
Even though their world tour is in support of their latest album The Punishment of Luxury (released in 2017), the pioneers of the synth-pop and new wave genre will present their Peruvian fans as well their greatest hits at The Domes of the Costa Verde.
A must-see for all 80s music enthusiasts.
