The Oscars of the Travel Industry were presented yesterday

Yesterday World Travel Awards announced its 2014 Central and South American winners at a Gala ceremony in Quito, Ecuador. Already since 1993 the World Travel Awards acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence in the tourism industry and is also known as the „Oscar of the Travel Industry". And as in previous years Peru, its hotels and companies were able to be recognized in numerous categories in South America.

 

Peru was awarded as:

  • South America's Leading Culinary Destination
  • South America's Leading Cultural Destination
  • South America's Leading Heritage Destination

Lima was awarded South America's Leading City Break Destination

Following hotels were honored:

  • Ramada Costa del Sol: South America's Leading Airport Hotel
  • Swissotel in Lima: South America's Leading Business Hotel
  • Delfines Hotel & Casino in Lima: South America's Leading Casino Resort
  • Belmond Miraflores Park Hotel in Lima: South America's Leading City Hotel
  • JW Mariott in Lima: South America's Leading Hotel
  • JW Mariott in Cuzco: South America's Leading New Hotel

Two Peruvian travel businesses were honored as well:

  • Explorandes: South America's Leading Green Tour Operator
  • Costamar Travel: South America's Leading Travel Agent

And for Peru following hotels were awarded:

  • Casa Andina Private Collection Valle Sagrado, Cuzco: Peru's Leading Boutique Hotel:
  • Swissotel, Lima: Peru's Leading Business Hotel
  • Hilton Miraflores, Lima: Peru's Leading Hotel
  • Presidential Pool Suite at the Belmond Miraflores Park, Lima: Peru's Leading Hotel Suite
  • Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, Machu Picchu: Peru's Leading Resort
