The "Pinacoteca Municipal Ignacio Merino" exhibits one of the most important Peruvian art collections of the country. On display are nearly 600 works from the 19th and 20th century, which show the variety and different artistic facets of Peruvian painters. The pinacotheca is proud to present its visitors paintings of the famous Pancho Fierro, Jose Sabogal, Juan Manuel Ugarte Elespuru, Fernando de Szyszlo and others.

You might want to verify this information. We went to 141 Conde de Superunda, to no avail. They had no idea what we were talking about. Also, verify the hours - it's bound to be closed on a Monday.

It's really strange you couldn't find the place. The Art Gallery Ignacio Merino is located inside the municipal building in the 3rd floor; check for example their Facebook page ("https://www.facebook.com/pinacotecamerino ") or the website of the municipality of Lima.
While some public museums, institutions and other places might be closed on Mondays, not all are! I just wrote an e-mail to the pinacoteca to reconfirm their opening hours.
