Just to open a personal account in Peru as a foreigner is already very difficult and without a residency in the country nearly impossible. The process of opening a business account is even more difficult as it involves lots of paperwork and time as you have to register a company in Peru first. This includes presenting all your documents (and depending on the company type of all associates) to a public notary. As a foreigner you have to have a residency or a permit to sign legal documents in the country. After the formation of the company and registration with “SUNARP” (National Superintendence of Public Registries) you proceed to “SUNAT” (The National Customs and Tax Administration). Armed with the documents of the company foundation, SUNARP & SUNAT you can finally proceed to a bank and request the opening of a business account. Depending on the business type and bank there might be a “security deposit” (that you can’t touch for about a year) and an initial minimum deposit…
