The Lima Weather Station

Current Weather Conditions in Lima, Peru (Conditions updated 17/5/12 at 20:00 hours)

Since November 2010, LimaEasy operates a Meteorological Station (Weather Station) in Lima. As the city is famous for its micro-climates with completely different conditions between the inner and outer districts the weather data mostly available at the moment can be very misleading as it only represents an average for an area of more than 2700 km2. The weather information on this page is specifically for the commonly visited inner districts of Lima, as we have positioned or Station centrally between Miraflores and Santiago de Surco. The information on this page is updated every 15 minutes. The last update was at 20:00 hours.

Beaufort Wind Scale A system of estimating and reporting wind speeds. It is based on the Beaufort Force or Number, which is composed of the wind speed, a descriptive term, and the visible effects upon land objects and/or sea surfaces. Cloud Base The Cloud Base is the lowest level in the atmosphere at which the air contains a perceptible quantity of cloud particles. Our Weather Station estimates the cloud base on temperature and humidity readings. Dew Point The Dew Point is the temperature to which a sample of air must be cooled, while the mixing ratio and barometric pressure remain constant, in order to attain saturation by water vapor (Rain). Wind Gust A Wind Gust is a sudden significant increase in or rapid fluctuations of wind speed. The duration is usually less twenty seconds. Relative Humidity Relative Humidity is a type of humidity that considers the ratio of the actual vapor pressure of the air to the saturation vapor pressure. It is usually expressed in percentage (Our Weather Station values show the relative humidity in Lima). Wind Chill The Wind Chill value is a calculation of a temperature index that takes into consideration the effects of wind and temperature on the human body. This is not the actual air temperature, but added or subtracted (depending if it's a positive or negative value) from the current temperature it will give you the "Real Feel" Temperature.
