SkyKitchen - Culinary Experience in Lima

After a short welcome with a typical Peruvian aperitif, the lesson starts. On the menu are three delicious Peruvian dishes: Papa a la Huancaina, an appetizer made of boiled potatoes served with a spicy fresh cheese sauce; Ceviche, the Peruvian national dish made of raw, in lime juice "cooked" fish; and Aji de Gallina, a spicy Peruvian chicken stew.

Chef Yurac gives you step by step instructions and some useful hints and tricks on how to prepare each dish making it easy to follow. He also recommends similar and / or in your home country possibly available products which could be used to replace special Peruvian ingredients without jeopardizing the result. Afterwards you enjoy your self-prepared Peruvian menu in a familiar and relaxed atmosphere on the beautiful roof-top terrace overlooking the city while having a nice conversation with your fellow participants and the chef.

Your evening begins with a short getting to know each other and a welcome drink. The dinner class introduces you to four characteristic Peruvian dishes: Causa Rellena, a refreshing typical Limeñan treat made of layers of mashed potatoes filled with a variety of vegetables and fish or chicken; Tiradito with a spicy kick, a dish similar to ceviche, sashimi or carpaccio here prepared with a creamy aji amarillo and rocoto sauce; Lomo Saltado, a popular Peruvian beef stir-fry; and as dessert a delicious Peruvian goody like Alfajores or Picarones.

Chef Yurac explains each dish in detail giving easy to follow instructions for the correct preparation. Used are of course only high quality and fresh ingredients. For back home hard to find special Peruvian ingredients, he recommends comparable or alternative products. Once your 4 course meal is cooked and nicely arranged on the plate, it's time for a well-deserved good glass of wine and for savoring your self-prepared Peruvian menu. While enjoying your dinner don't miss the amazing view over Lima.
